Our Company - Staff

Susan Pierce, AIA, is a registered architect, licensed in the State of Virginia. She is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute's College of Architecture and Urban Studies.
Susan interned for the Washington, DC office of the national architecture firm of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill before spending over two years at the award-winning architecture firm of Sutton Sullenberger Associates Architecture in Vienna, VA. Susan has served on several construction industry boards. She is the principal architect for Commonwealth; her responsibilities include designing, business planning, reviewing construction documents, writing specifications, estimating, scheduling, and coordinating specialty products used in construction.

Susan is always active in various community projects and enjoys speaking to groups about architecture and green design. She and Kelvin have two daughters and are lifelong residents of Vienna, Virginia.

Kelvin Pierce, president, worked as an aerospace engineer after graduating from Virginia Polytechnic Institute's Aerospace and Ocean Engineering program.

While working for the Navy (1983-86) Kelvin honed his technical and organizational skills and created the framework for a stable and successful remodeling company. He utilizes engineering attitudes while preparing budgets, writing specifications and construction schedules, and keeping crews and vendors on-time and on-budget.

Besides his busy work schedule, Kelvin enjoys spending time with his two daughters, coaching the local girl’s softball team, and running the Divine Child Foundation, a charity dedicated to helping orphans in the Republic of Georgia.
